Distinguished Americans Support the Ad Campaign

As someone who has had the rare privilege of viewing our beautiful earth from the moon, I am increasingly worried about what we are doing to our home. The stuff that we burn: where does it go, what does it do? As answers come in, it is apparent that all Americans need to do everything we can to stop this dangerous warming trend. I applaud this effort to wake up the public about this vitally important issue.
Major General Mike Collins
Apollo 11 Astronaut

This is one of those large, once-a-generation issues -- bigger than party, bigger than special interests, bigger than partisan agendas -- that unites us all. I'm proud to lend my efforts to help get the message across that it's time to act now.
Thomas Kean
Former Governor, New Jersey

I've had the rare privilege of seeing our earth through the window of an orbiting spacecraft. The scale, power and elegant beauty of our planet left indelible impressions on me. From the vantage point of orbit, the unity of everything and everyone on Earth is inescapably clear. We truly are “in this together”. We share responsibility for stewardship of the planet and must act together when threats arise. Global warming is a serious threat. I applaud the Fight Global Warming campaign to educate the public about its urgency. I’m proud to join this effort to inform Americans about global warming and help them understand what we can do about it.
Dr. Kathryn D. Sullivan, Ph.D.
Oceanographer, Explorer, NASA Astronaut 1978-1993

Scientists who study our climate are deeply concerned about the rapid pace of global warming. These ads are an urgent wake-up call. This campaign gives Americans the tools they need to take steps in their everyday lives. The ads also let Americans know that there is still time to avoid global warming's most dangerous consequences.
